11 day Vancouver Island & Northern Rockies small group tour

Arrive in Vancouver and make a start
exploring the city, in the evening attend a
welcome meeting with your CEO to set
the scene for your adventure ahead.

Catch a ferry to Vancouver Island, and
travel on to the city of Victoria. Enjoy
some free time where you may opt to
visit a museum, stroll the beautiful Butchart
Gardens or simply explore the city. (B)

Enjoy some further free time in Victoria
this morning before travelling through
scenic landscapes on your way to Port
Hardy at the northern tip of Vancouver
Island. (B)

Embark on a ferry through the famous
Inside Passage. Relax and spot wildlife
such as orcas and porpoises, and soak
up the spectacular views of the glacial
fjords on one of the most scenic stretches
of coastline in the world. The ride is long
but worth every moment. Arrive at Prince
Rupert late in the evening. (B)

Discover the First Nations cultures of
Northern British Columbia on a day
tour around Smithers. Start by visiting
the Hazeltons, an area with one of the
highest concentrations of totem poles in
the world, with over 50 standing poles.
After, stop at Gitwangak National
Historic Site and learn about the fort
and battles fought by the warrior Nekt
on Battle Hill. Wrap up the day with a
tour of the Ksan museum and historical
village. Stay overnight in a remote lodge
surrounded by nature. (B)

Day 6 :
Smithers

Enjoy a free day to explore the
wilderness around Smithers. Opt to
visit Babine Mountains Provincial Park,
Moricetown Canyon, Driftwood Canyon
Provincial Park, or hike one of many trails
in the area. (B)

After a morning in Smithers, continue your
travels to Prince George, the largest city in
Northern British Columbia. (B)

Cross the provincial border into Alberta
and stop at the tallest mountain in the
Canadian Rockies – Mount Robson. Visit
the Interpretation Centre to learn more
about this area of outstanding beauty
and witness for yourself the spectacular
views on offer. Take a short hike before
journeying on to Jasper National Park. (B)

Day 9 :
Jasper

Today is free day to explore. Optional
activities on offer include a Maligne
Canyon hike, a boat cruise to Spirit Island,
whitewater rafting on Athabasca River or
a hike of Bald Hills. In the evening enjoy
the stunning landscape of the lakes and
mountains at Miette Hot Springs. Soak in
one of the four pools as you take in the
peaceful panoramic views. (B)

Travel to Canmore via one of the most
scenic drives in the world, the Icefields
Parkway, stopping at the Columbia
Icefield en route. Along the drive a
spectacle unfolds – lush coniferous forests,
immense mountains, turquoise lakes, high
falling cascades and humbling glaciers.
Stop along the way to take in the scenery
and search for wildlife. (B)

Travel to Calgary, where your tour
concludes on arrival. (B)
